By law if your vehicle is older than 3 years you are required to have an MOT. An MOT is an annual safety check to ensure the vehicle meets minimum safety standards and levels of exhaust emissions set out by the DVSA. Without a valid MOT certificate, you will not be applicable for road tax and your car insurance becomes invalid.
